Pulp Studio wins a 2021 Glass Magazine Award in the Best Decorative Glass Application Project category for the Hurricane Maria Memorial. The awards honor companies in 14 categories for products and projects.
“This year’s winners show why glass is the best material choice for performance, strength, occupant wellness, decoration and more,” says Katy Devlin, associate publisher and editor in chief of Glass Magazine. “The winning projects run the gamut, from an unbelievable glass dome, to a multicolored hurricane-rated façade, to a stunning and moving decorative memorial installation.”
The Hurricane Maria Memorial in Battery Park, New York features an ascending glass spiral, meant to echo a hurricane and a shell, which is a symbol of protection against the elements. The glass in this memorial uses Pulp’s D2G process for ceramic application, and then is bent, tempered and laminated. The memorial reflects and refracts multi-hued beams of sunlight and is crowned by the star of the Puerto Rican flag, emblematic of hope rising from devastation.

Pulp Studio is featured in the September/October 2021 issue of Glass Magazine and on GlassMagazine.com. The company was also recognized at GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window & Door Expo in Atlanta from September 13–15, 2021.
