Creative and Technically Challenging Glass Exterior for Aquarium of the Pacific Wows Judges

Pulp Studio, the leading designers and manufacturers of technically superior decorative glass for commercial markets is honored to announce that it has been awarded Best Decorative Glass Application – Exterior, by Glass Magazine for its work on the Aquarium of the Pacific, Long Beach, California.

The prestigious glass and metal industry awards program recognizes the best products and glass applications the commercial, retail and fabrication markets have to offer.

“Being recognized by others in our industry – our peers – who themselves understand the challenges involved in creating unique and viable solutions for commercial projects is really an honor,” said Bernard Lax, Founder and CEO of Pulp Studio. “We were fortunate to collaborate with excellent architects on this project, which is certainly a key to the success of the project.”

There was no shortage of submissions for the awards and ultimately the magazine chose 9 Projects and 7 Products, covering categories such as Project of the Year, Best Decorative Glass Application – Exterior (Pulp Studio), Best Decorative Glass Application – Interior, Best Feat of Engineering, Best Green Project, Best Glass Interior, Best Jumbo Glass Project, Best Project Team and Best Protective Glazing Project.

“This year we had a very inspiring field of nominees,” says Ricardo Dominguez, owner, Jordon Glass Machinery, jordonglass.com, and Glass Magazine Awards judge. “Architects, contractors and glaziers continue to push the envelope of their imagination and curiosity. Their finished works capture and display their collective efforts, bringing to life beautiful structures that tell a story. For us in the industry, that story goes deeper than the finished project. The exterior aesthetics is but the capstone of the enormous effort, talent and engineering that each individual project took to get there. We marvel at the details.”

“I have been judging for almost a decade and the advances in technology, creativity, engineering and installation as provided by the candidates this year blows me away,” adds Terry Peterson, a Glass Magazine Awards judge and vice president of Novum Structures, novumstructures.com.

Winners will be celebrated at a ceremony at 2019 GlassBuild America, September 18, 2019 at the Express Learning Theatre, Atlanta, GA.
