Some people would say that the past can catch up with you. Sometimes it can be a good thing, sometimes it can be bad

Some people would say that the past can catch up with you. Sometimes it can be a good thing, sometimes it can be bad, and sometimes it is debatable where it falls. (Kelly second from the right)

Long before Kelly Green was the owner of California Glass Bending he was an irresponsible rock and roller with the wind in his hair and dreams of his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside such notables as Guns and Roses, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. Unfortunately for Kelly’s band Smokestack Lightnin’ trip to the top ended after their first album “Off the Wall”, not to be confused with the “The Wall” by Pink Floyd, although I am pretty sure it was Smokestack Lightnin‘s album where Pink Floyd got the idea.

In any case, the rise to the top didn’t happen as planned, but the music of Smokestack Lightnin’ hasn’t faded away. Now available at AMAZON you can download and groove to their notable hits such as “Watch Your Step”, “Three Hundred Pounds of Heavenly Joy” or my favorite “I Idolize You”. The music of Smokestack Lightnin’ is a timeless gift to those you who like your rock and roll hard and heavy, but being that this was recorded in when they were still stamping out 45′s I don’t think that there will be any objectionable lyrics. By the way, if you still have a 45 player, don’t miss out on the a 45 of “I Idolize You” available only as a “USED” copy.

Chris Isaak performs live for Jean Kim on 95.5 KLOS’s Mark & Brian morning show

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Los Angeles, or have never been to the studio you might not know that we are located next door to LA’s most popular radio station KLOS 95.5. The drive time morning show is hosted by Mark and Brian and they have celebrity guests on a regular basis.

One morning they had Chris Isaak, a favorite of the ladies, especially one lady, our customer service representative Jean Kim. Since CI is one of her fav’s, she had the nerve to call the request line, get on the air and imposed her will on them to let her come over to the station and meet him. Not only did Jean get an audience with CI but he invited her to sing with him on the radio.  Unfortunately after her stellar performance she wasn’t invited to go on the road, so we are happy to say she is back at her desk waiting to assist our customers. JEAN ROCKS!
